A HUMILIATED Sikh holiday-maker forced against his religion to remove his
turban in public at airport security has belatedly received an apology from
the authorities.

Jaswant Singh Judge was passing through security control with his wife
before boarding an Iberia flight home when he was asked to remove his turban
by security staff at Tenerife South Airport.

Along with his shoes, belt and belongings, Mr Judge, 53, of Rosemary Drive,
Redbridge, was told to put his turban through the conveyor belt scanner.

He asked to speak to the chief security officer at the airport who also
insisted that Mr Judge would have to remove his turban in front of other
passengers.

"I explained I am a Sikh and it is humiliating to remove our turban in
public," said Mr Judge following the incident in March.

"We are supposed to cover our hair which is very sacred to us.

"I said, 'Can't you take me to a private room to do it?' But they would
not."

"I fully agree with the stringent security checks, but when they do these
checks, a person's dignity and respect should be taken into account."

Back home, Mr Judge got in touch with Goodmayes Labour ward Cllr Satnam
Singh and Gurdip Singh Hundal, the general secretary of the Gurdwara Singh
Sabha London East, who advised him to contact his Ilford North MP Lee Scott.

Mr Scott took the matter up with the Foreign Office, the Spanish Interior
Ministry and Spanish police.

"You are talking about a country that is a member of the European Union,"
said Mr Scott.

"Every day Sikhs must travel through Tenerife Airport. I have had emails
from Sikhs all over the world and they have asked if something can be put in
the European Union. There is a rule already there!"

Mr Judge recently received a letter from the director of the Spanish Police,
asking him to accept their apologies.

Give us back our countries: Stop the criminal multiculturalism ideology
enforced upon the white world against the will of its peoples, leading to
mass immigration from the third-world: Mul-cul + pol-corr = lethal mixture
for the white world. And give us back our freedom: Dismantle all
surveillance technology.
