Una vez se creyó que había numerosos órganos en el cuerpo que no tenían
alguna función, siendo el apéndice un ejemplo. Supuestamente ésta era
evidencia para la evolución, como si esos órganos hubieran sido dejados por
el proceso de la evolución. La ciencia ha eliminado esa idea por completo,
ya que para todos los órganos que alguna vez estuvieron en la lista de los
que no tenían función en los seres humanos, se han encontrado funciones
significativas.
