Hello friends
I changed the cd drive of my white ibook (800MHz with 2 USB connectors).
When I had put everything back and connected the power supply, some
component started to make noise (beep). After a while the noise dissapeared
and became a short circuit. After that the power supply cannot be connected
(it's shorted somewhere on the board). The ibook runs normally on the
battery (that has to be loaded in another ibook).
I am an electro engineer and I have constructed many regulators and power
supplies myself (I just founded electrobrains.com), so I am sure I can
repair the unit (I suspect a flyback diode shorted and then the output stage
of an ic or a transistor burned as a result). It's just an awful work to
search the problem without a circuit diagram! Can anyone help me?
